Charity 2008-2009.
North West Air Ambulance (NWAA)
The NWAA is a medical air emergency service covering Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and Cumbria.
It was established in 1999 and is used 365 days a year across 5,500 square miles. It costs £1.3 million a year to maintain and covers accidents and all major motorways incidents.
The NWAA has a maximum flying time of ten minutes to the nearest appropriate hospital. In the event of serious incidents the patient a better chance of survival arriving quickly at the hospital with the "Golden Hour" recovery can be dramatically improved.
NWAA also can transfer critically ill and injured patients which need to travel long distances for emergency surgery e.g. those with severe head injuries or spinal injuries.
Please support our charity this year. We would be grateful of any fundraising ideas or help at our charity rally, which will be held in June 2009 at Longridge Showground. We are collecting tins, jars or anything to use in a hamper as a prize for a raffle and any other raffle prizes you are willing to donate. Please give generously to any member of the Charity Committee.
Presentation
On Saturday 26th September, the Charity Committee presented a cheque of £5100 to the paramedics and the pilot working on the day at Blackpool Airport. Ten pictures are available here. The pilot (the guy in the black jump suit) remembers rescuing Daniel Rigby in the Lake District the other month.

On the 5th - 7th June we again need your help & support at the Charity Rally at Longridge Showground. We would be grateful if anyone can organise & run a stall at the Sunday market. If you are willing to help please contact any member of the Charity Committee.
